Knock First

This site was previously named eyeofnorus. "Norus" means seagull in Arabic. My bird doesn't look like a seagull, but he always yearns for the cliffs and salt air. I decided to change the name because I am in a mood of gathering old resources and tools and using them to transform my environment, with permission. Funny birds are still my primary inspiration...ٍ

Now the site is named knockfirst. This is named after a silent comic I started in my head a few years back, about a girl who returns to a sad town after years of mysterious absence. Knock First is all about permission and anticipation and walking through doorways and hanging back. Please knock first before entering any world or story. Two knocks is polite, three is a little dramatic. One is all you need.

  • Continuing to make random illustrations
  • Returning to my silent comic
  • Collaborating with my friends
  • Experimenting with printmaking, especially screenprinting and relief
